Judith Ellen Cole

Judith Ellen Maitzen Cole, age 77, passed away peacefully in hospice care March 21, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 24, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Richard P. Maitzen and Rita Nitch Maitzen, and the beloved sister of Richard Maitzen Jr.

Judith was the devoted mother of Shannon Cole and Jessica (Cole) Marston (Christopher), and the proud grandmother of Danielle Irja Marston and Jayden Peter August Marston. Her grandchildren were the heart of her world, and nothing brought her more joy than the time she spent with them.

A woman of creativity, skill, and quiet strength, Judith was a gifted seamstress who poured love into every stitch. She enjoyed crafting of all kinds and found fulfillment in making beautiful things with her hands. She also carried a spirit of adventure, embracing the freedom of cross-country motorcycle rides. Her love of musicals filled her home with song, and her spicy sense of humor brought laughter to those lucky enough to share her company.

Judith's life was defined by love, resilience, and the deep bonds she shared with her family. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her talents, her wit, and the unwavering devotion she showed to those she loved.

Based upon her wishes, there will be no services, and the family will hold a private celebration of life.
