Judith (nee Baer) Horn, 93, of New City, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family and friends, on Sunday, December 14.
She was born October 23, 1932 to Abraham Baer and Pauline Zuckerberg, and was loving younger sister to Muriel Rapoport and Marshall Baer who predeceased her.
She was married to the late Jack Horn and is the loving mother of David (Ann Marie), Andrew (Joe), Steven (Miwako), and Daniel, and grandmother of Evan, Blake, Cole, Douglas and Helen. She was also devoted to her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Judi was proud to be a public-school teacher for 27 years in the East Ramapo School District. She had degrees in education, counseling and gerontology. She volunteered with CASA as a court appointed special advocate for abused or neglected children, and American Cancer Society's Reach to Recovery, counseling numerous women battling breast cancer. She loved to travel and read and in recent times looked forward to her weekly delivery of books from the New City Library.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society.
The family will be receiving visitors at 3 Annabelle Lane, New City, New York from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
