Send Flowers
Judith ("Judy") Anne Rigby, whose unmistakable laugh could fill a room and whose generous heart made everyone feel loved, died peacefully on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on November 29, 1941, in Taunton, Massachusetts to Jack and Anne Berutich, Judy grew up in Decatur, Illinois, and Louisville, Kentucky. She attended the University of Kentucky where she joined Delta Delta Delta sorority, a sisterhood that remained central to her life. Through Atlanta's Tri Delta alumnae chapter, she built friendships that spanned decades.

In 1963, she married John ("Jack") Rigby, her partner in everything for 62 years. They never stopped making each other laugh. That laugh was Judy's signature - you always knew when she was nearby. Her laugh made everyone around her smile.

Her three daughters, Kim, Kevyn, and Kristin, will tell you their mom could do anything. Room mom, team mom, Brownie leader, Sunday school teacher, chaperone - Judy showed up for everything and made it look effortless. She didn't just raise her daughters; she showed them what love in action looked like. That didn't change when they grew up. She remained their safe place, their cheerleader, their north star through every joy and heartbreak life brought.

Her five grandchildren knew her as "Nonnie." She was the kind of grandmother who got down on the floor to play, who was fully engaged, fully loving, fully theirs. Her joy in them was boundless, and the feeling was mutual.

Judy had an eye for beauty and built a successful interior design business, Coventry Cottage, with her best friend, Pat Hunt. Working together doing what they both loved was pure joy. Jack never quite knew what he'd come home to - a moved couch, a freshly painted wall, an entire room transformed...again!

She is survived by her husband Jack; her daughters Kim Conyers, Kevyn Hennessey (Jim), and Kristin Connor; her grandchildren Hayley Conyers, Ryan Connor, Brandon Connor, Keira Hennessey, and Kayla Hennessey; and her siblings Jack Berutich (Vicki), Jim Berutich (Beth), and Terri Crider (Alan).

The hole she leaves is enormous. But so is the love she gave, and that lives on in all of us.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm on January 8, 2026 in the Chapel at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, 2375 Shallowford Road, Atlanta, GA 30345.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's memory to CURE Childhood Cancer, www.curechildhoodcancer.org.
