Judith Schoen

Judith M. (Judy) Schoen, 86, formerly of Glenolden, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026 after a long illness. Judy was a resident of Barclay Friends, West Chester, for the past 8 years. She was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Hare and the late Rita (Sands) Hare. Judy was a 1957 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan.

A lifelong resident of Delaware County, Judy was a fixture in the Glenolden banking community. She began her banking career as the junior teller at Glenolden Savings and Loan in 1974, rising to become branch manager and Assistant Vice-President as the bank changed hands many times over the years. Judy retired from what became M&T Bank in 2005. Judy was also active in the Chester Pike Rotary Club and St. Rose of Lima parish.

Judy is survived by two sons, Robert (Phyllis) of West Grove, PA and Raymond (Christa) of West Grove and by her sister Gale Stimmler of West Chester. She was predeceased by her son Richard and her brother Thomas Hare. Her five granddaughters, Ellen (Matthew) of Nashville, Elizabeth (John) of Havertown, Anna (Shahada) of Gaithersburg, MD, Meredith and Lauren, both of West Grove, will always remember their Nana with great love and affection. Judy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial Mass will be held for family and close friends in May. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Judy's memory to Barclay Friends, 700 N. Franklin St., West Chester, PA 19390.
