Judy Marie Bailey

Judy Bailey passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Greensboro, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.

Judy was born Judy Marie Humphries in Shelby, North Carolina, to Clyde and Gladys Humphries in 1943.

While working as a secretary in the Greensboro Police Department, she met and married the love of her life, Sergeant Millard (Moe) Bailey. They were married in 1966 and had four daughters whom they raised in a Christ-centered home. In addition to being a wife and mother and working full time, Judy attended school at night and earned an associate degree in computer programming. Judy was a lifelong learner and continued taking courses to further her professional career as a programmer. After retiring, Judy established an eBay business.

Judy also had a strong artistic and creative side. She was an accomplished oil painter and sculptor. She also loved crocheting, opera, gardening, and reading, and was passionate about politics.

She especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Moe Bailey; her parents, Clyde and Gladys Humphries; and her brother, Gary Humphries.

She is survived by her daughters: Angelia Bailey, Andrea Cagle (Brian), Kimberly Bailey, and Kelly Meris (Bird); six grandchildren - Carly Succo (Ryan), Tanner Cagle, Dawson Burroughs, Brinley Santaguida (Cody), Lathan Meris, and Lincoln Meris; Greg Burroughs, ex-husband of Angelia and father of Carly and Dawson; her sister, Donna Humphries; and her cherished dog, Sophie.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Jared Austin Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 622, McLeansville, NC 27301.
