Judy Jarvis McAlister, 78, of Argyle, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at home with her family by her bedside after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on March 18, 1947, in Big Springs, Texas, Judy was the daughter of Reg and Pat Jarvis.
Judy (or “Tutu” as she was affectionately known) spent her early years in Ft Worth, TX and later moved to Houston, TX, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1965. During her high school years, she excelled as captain of the volleyball team, ran track and played tennis.
Judy then continued her education at Texas Tech University where she attended on a track scholarship and met Mike McAlister, whom she later married in August of 1968. Judy later finished her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from East Texas State University in 1988.
Judy lived an active and vibrant life. She loved traveling the world, playing tennis, coaching her daughter’s cheerleading team, attending her son’s football games, and spending time with family and friends. Her heart for service was evident in her dedication to fostering children and her instrumental role in founding CASA in Sulphur Springs, Texas—a program ensuring every child has a voice in court. Judy was also a woman of faith and a devoted member of Argyle United Methodist Church, where she served as a Stephen Minister.
Judy radiated joy and grace wherever she went. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence made every gathering brighter. She had a rare ability to turn strangers into friends and to make life’s challenges seem lighter with her wisdom and humor. Judy’s unwavering love for her family, her devotion to her children, and her boundless care for her grandchildren defined her life. She was truly one of a kind—a woman whose strength and elegance inspired everyone around her.
