Julia Stoddard Harrison

Julia Stoddard Harrison, 92, passed away March 1. Beloved mother of Maggie and Peter; grandmother of Rachid (Ashley), Tom (Sarah), and Andrew (Jess); and great-grandmother of Charlie and Grant. Julia was preceded in death by her son Thomas; her brother James; her sister Bobby; and her parents, Ruth and Ebenezer.

Born in Simsbury, Connecticut, she later moved to Ohio with her former husband, Richard, after he accepted a job offer. She devoted her early years to raising her family, with homemade bread that seemed to magically come out of the oven just as the kids got off the bus.

Julia was never bored and was always trying new hobbies—playing the guitar, singing, sewing, knitting, macramé, weaving, painting, jewelry making, and many more that we probably can't recall.

Following her divorce, she returned to school and became an early adopter of computer programming, later building a successful career at Matrix. In retirement, she spent many happy years in Indiana and Maine.

When stoking the fire in Maine became too much, she returned to Ohio to be closer to her family. She led life with love and humor, quick to smile, always kind, and with a unique sense of humor that kept us laughing. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
