Julie Howey (née Pisano), beloved mother, wife, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, and friend, passed away on February 13, 2026 after a lengthy illness. She took her last breath in her home, surrounded by many family members who loved her and will miss her dearly.

Julie was a native of upstate New York, specifically Port Byron. She graduated from State University of New York at Oswego with a degree in Marketing. She worked in financial administration where she was a favorite among clients. Even when illness forced her to stop working, she received cards and calls of support from many of her clients.

Julie was the adoring mother of and is survived by Matthew and Jackson Howey. She is also survived by her devoted husband Matthew Howey. Her husband and boys were an incredible consolation to her in her final days, providing love and care.

She is also survived by: her sister Deanna (Pisano) and brother-in-law Dan Wilkinson and her nephews Dan and Corey and niece Meghan; Her sister Heather (Pisano) Mahunik and her nieces Anna, Samantha, and Rebecca; her brother Jim Pisano and her niece Taylor; her sister Tara Meyers (Pisano) and her brother-in-law Ryan Meyers and her nephews Nate and Will; her sister-in-law Lynelle Howey and her niece Silviane Franqui-Howey. Julie was predeceased by her parents, James Pisano and Rosemarie Pisano (Smith) and her brother-in-law Mike Mahunik.

Julie was known for her sunny and kind disposition. Even when sick and in pain in the hospital, unit nurses would comment that she was a favorite. Julie was never heard complaining about her situation, or just about anything - she would work toward solutions. She was accepting of others, always sought to find ways to make others' days more pleasant, was genuinely interested in the news and adventures of her friends and family, and expressed hope even in the face of great adversity.

The family would like to express its thanks to Julie's Oncologist, Dr. Susan Domchek and nurse practitioner Mosetta Harris and the whole team at University of Pennsylvania Health System who provided top notch care while also being very kind over a span of almost two decades.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made in Julie's name to University of Pennsylvania Hospice Care. www.pennmedicine.org/hospice-donate

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a future date.
