Julie Renee Young, age 44, passed away suddenly on February 12, 2026, in Sacramento, California, surrounded by her loved ones at Kaiser South Hospital after a long and courageous battle with her health. Despite facing significant challenges over the past year and a half, Julie’s strength and resilience were a testament to her unwavering spirit.
Born on June 1, 1981, in Sacramento, California, Julie grew up in the community she loved. She graduated from Valley High School and went on to pursue higher education at Consumnes River College and Santa Barbara City College with aspirations of working in the medical field.
Julie’s life was defined by her boundless compassion and love for all living beings. She had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people and animals alike. Her heart was open to everyone she met—she never knew a stranger—and her home became a sanctuary for many. Julie’s kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her devoted partner, Mike Cox; her cherished fur babies Nammi, Gup, and Marley; her loving parents Roger and Kathy; her brother Brian (Melissa); nieces and nephews Austin (Melania), Dean (Carly), Taylor, Lily, and Tex; great-nieces and great-nephews Kane, Harlow, and Beau; as well as her very special cousins Jim (Sandy), Dayton (Sam), and Austin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 1, 2026.
Julie lived by the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Her memory will forever inspire those who knew her to live with love, compassion, and courage. May her legacy bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
