Obituary for June (Tanzi) Salvail

June Elaine (Tanzi) Salvail, passed away in August 7, 2025, after a 15-yr. battle with dementia. Mrs. Salvail is pre-deceased by her parents. John and Dora Tanzi of Hanover NH, her husband, Richard P. Salvail, and her sisters Diane Tanzi and Judith Tanzi Laux. June was a graduate of Hanover High School, and a graduate of Keene State College. She received her Bachelors degree in early childhood education. She married Richard P. Salvail on Sept. 20, 1952, also a graduate from Keene Stage College.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Salvail of Novato, CA, and Pamela (Salvail) Thornhill and grandson Samuel Thornhill of Nashua, NH, as well as her sister Jennifer (Tanzi) Jacobsen, brother-in-law Kenneth Jacobsen, and many nieces and nephews. June spent her remaining years in Novato, CA. She was an avid volunteer for various organizations, utilizing her skills to help children with disabilities. June loved all forms of nature, was an avid gardener, classical pianist - a lover of all things nature and music. She loved the beach and found great solace and joy living by the ocean. June was a very kind, gentle, and non-judgmental person who believed that everyone is created equally. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Med Residential Care, 1243 Grenada St. Vallejo, CA 94591 in memory of June Salvail. A private memorial service will be held this month in her honor.
