Karen Lee Holmes

Karen Lee Holmes, 73, entered into eternal rest on March 14, 2026, after battling cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Holmes, and brother Gary Holmes. She is survived by sisters Lisa Allegra (Joe) and Tina Schiely (Jim); nephews and nieces Matt (Michelle), Michelle (Mike), Natalie, Sam (Carina), Kyle (Melissa), Lauren (Sean), and Leah (Juan); and dear friend Paul Hale.

Born in Chicago on February 15, 1953, Karen lived a vibrant life running hundreds of marathons; riding bikes across entire states with her best friend, Judie Kimpan; working as a metallurgist in the aerospace industry; and caring for her horses. Among her greatest accomplishments was completing the Camino de Santiago in 2014 and again in 2017. She loved travel, food, and photography, and volunteered with several local organizations toward the end of her life in the Bentonville area.
