Karen Kay Monroe, 63, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Mayfield, Kentucky.
Karen was born in Lansing, Michigan, on July 19, 1962, to Linda and A.J. Monroe. She spent much of her life in Kentucky and was a retired factory worker.
She is survived by her children: Brad Cease; Nick (Regan) Cease; Lacey (Peter) Peterson; and Rachel Rice.
She is also survived by her parents, Linda and A.J. Monroe; her brothers, Andy (Kristen) Monroe, and John (Mary) Monroe; her grandchildren, Hannah, Mason, Landon (Grace), Suzanne, and A.J., and her great-grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephew.
Karen will be remembered for her warm heart, youthful spirit and love of family and friends. She especially enjoyed baking and sharing homemade treats during the holidays, a tradition many looked forward to each year. She loved Patsy Cline, cherished her beloved pets, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those she cared about.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the caregivers and staff who supported Karen over the years, including those who ensured her safety and care during difficult times.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
