Karen Cole Moore age 78 of Farragut, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Thursday February 12, 2026, after a brief illness. She graduated from Knoxville South high school class of 1965 where she was a majorette and member of the National Honor Society. At South she met and later married her high school sweetheart Ray, they were together for 66 years and married for over 60 years.
Karen worked for over 20 years as an Office Manager for several insurance and investment firms in Chattanooga and later Knoxville. She was Secretary to the Vice President of Chubb Insurance in Chattanooga for over 10 years. Karen was the driving force and reason that Ray graduated from UT in Electric Engineering class of 1966. After graduation they moved to Merritt Island Florida, where Karen was a stay-at-home mom with her two new babies while Ray was a Ground Computer Launch Engineer at Kennedy Space Center for the Apollo moon program. Karen and Ray then moved and lived for over 20 years in Hixson Tennessee where they raised their two children and enjoyed many forever TVA friendships. Their final move was to Farragut where they have lived for 36 years enjoying retirement and travelling for more than 24 years.
Karen is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Helen Cole. She is survived by her husband Ray; children, Debra, Ray (Heather), grandchildren, Taylor Carter, Kassidy Moore, Connor Moore, Katlyn (Lael) Justice; great-grandchildren, Calvin Carter, Chris Carter, Kaylani Moore, and Josie Justice and brother–in-law, David.
