Karin Louise Adams

1938 - 2026

Karin Adams, 87, of Boise, will always be remembered as a loving and devoted Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Neighbor and Servant of Christ, who willingly and unselfishly gave of herself to care for others. She was a faithful servant to the Lord and consistently modeled this in both word and action. She is remembered for being extremely organized and particular about the neat environment she kept, and although she did not mince words about what she thought, her care for others superseded her pragmatic approach to daily life. She smiled easily, loved much and was well-loved in return.

Karin was a dedicated wife, Mom and traditional homemaker first, taking on paper route distribution responsibilities when her kids had paper routes after school, always preparing three homecooked meals a day, school lunches and after school snacks. When her kids were young, she baked her own bread, made yogurt and butter from glass bottles of milk topped with cream from the dairy, and baked lots of goodies – she had a real sweet tooth! She always managed to do much with little means, and never wavered in her duties as mother and wife.

After her child-raising years she worked as a librarian at the Idaho State Library and Ada Community Library. She cherished her role as librarian, and took it seriously to care for and nurture the community kids and local patrons. She was also a devoted library user, becoming immersed in the wonderful world of history and health by learning through biographical books, movies and stories about people. In all that she did she kept her eyes on the goal of serving Christ, even when faced with ovarian cancer, which she beat with every natural way possible. She did not let anything get in her way and deter her, always following a straight and narrow path.

Like her late husband, Gordon, she lived a modest and unpretentious life, and truly enjoyed living frugally in her later years. She was at peace with the Lord and was confident in her future with Him.

Karin is survived by her five children; Mike, Bob, Marci, Naomi and Greg; grandchildren Jenniel, Jacob, Ben, Nia, Cassia, Bethel, Ally and Cora; her younger brother, David, his daughters [Aunt] Lisa and Genny, and grandnephews Miska, Larry and Tristan. She was intentional about keeping in contact with all of her children, and deliberate about establishing relationships with her grandchildren. She made efforts to right any wrongs of the past in the best ways she knew how, and in retrospect we all genuinely know how much she cared for us all. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
