In loving memory
Karla Jean McCutcheon, 52, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, with her daughter Ashley comforting her along her bedside after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 8, 1972, in Dunedin, Florida.
Karla was a beautiful woman inside and out. As a mother, she was a steady source of love. She celebrated every success, held space for every struggle, and believed endlessly in the people she cared for. Karla was a woman whose beautiful blue eyes sparkled with grace and laughter. Her warm smile brightened every room she entered, these were reflections of the kindness she carried in her heart.
Throughout her illness, Karla demonstrated remarkable faith and strength, finding courage in her trust in God. We recognize her uplifting spirt through
Psalm 27:3-6
Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.
Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.
Always seeking the good in others and finding the positive side of every circumstance. She was the kind of person who made others feel seen and valued. Her presence had a way of calming storms, and her generosity extended far beyond what anyone ever expected. She taught, simply by the way she lived, what it meant to be resilient, compassionate, and deeply human. She approached life with humility and love, always seeking out joy in both the ordinary and the extraordinary. Her greatest pride and joy were her three daughters—Destiny, Ashley, and Amber Wolford—whom she raised to be brave, creative, and compassionate women. Finding beauty in the simple moments and encouraging her daughters to live authentically and without fear. Her love extended beyond her daughters to her "bonus son" Joesph and his wonderful children, whom she was thankful for and cherished very deeply. She also had gratitude and love for her son in law, Bo Boswell and his family, who also helped support and take care of her in her last hardest stages of life. She is blessed to have seen one of her daughters get engaged. Karla also shared a special affection for her pets and furry "granddogs", who brought her great comfort and happiness.
Karla loved art, music, and the simple wonders of nature. She had an adventurous spirit and found happiness in being near the water and enjoyed taking walks in nature where she felt closest to peace. Karla was passionate about cooking, always eager to try new recipes and share them with love and laughter. She loved crafting projects, and learning about other cultures. Mom had a soul deeply connected to music. The soundtrack of her life was filled with the electric energy of Led Zeppelin, the timeless harmonies of Fleetwood Mac, and the raw, brilliant spirit of Jimi Hendrix. Music wasn't just something she listened to, it was something she felt, something that lifted her, healed her, and helped her express the fire and tenderness within her. Those who knew her will forever remember how her energy would shift when her favorite songs played, and how music brought her joy even in the toughest moments.
We will remember her as a free spirit—joyful, adventurous, and deeply loving. Her greatest accomplishment was not only raising her daughters but nurturing in them the same compassion and grace that defined her.
Karla is survived by her daughters Destiny, Ashley, and Amber Wolford, her dear loving parents; mother, Jerilyn Singer; father, Clayton McCutcheon, her brother; Deane McCutcheon; sisters, Tonya Coty (McCutcheon) and Kerry McCutcheon; her step-siblings, Tina Middleton and Robert Middleton; and her beloved stepmother growing up, Darlene. She also leaves behind her "bonus son," Joe, his beloved children, many beloved nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles on both sides of her family, her dear cousins—including her cherished cousins CJ, Emily, and Cheryl whose stories she often recalled to her daughters with laughter —and countless friends from Florida and Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert Singer and Mary Lou (Baldridge) Singer, and her grandparents Alvin McCutcheon and Betty Jean (Cunningham) McCutcheon.
In the promise of Jeremiah 31:3 and Acts 2:21, we trust that Karla is embraced forever by God's everlasting love.
Karla's family expresses heartfelt gratitude to all who supported her during her illness. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She will be forever remembered by all blessed to have known her and carried in the hearts of those who loved her.
