Karol Ann Kirkman Saenz

Karol Ann Kirkman Saenz passed away on March 7, 2026. She was born on October 20, 1933, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Wallace Glen Kirkman and Myrtle Blanch Musser Kirkman, and grew up in Logan, Utah. She was the younger of two children and was preceded in death by her husband Javier Saenz, and brother, Wallace “Kirk” Glen Kirkman, Jr.
Karol was the devoted mother of two children, Thomas William Pike (Kristine) and Suzanne Pike Coleman. She later married Javier Saenz, Ph.D., and lovingly embraced his children as her own: Linda Luz Saenz Magnuson (Alan) and Joshua Daniel Saenz (Stacey).
With Javier’s encouragement and steadfast support, Karol returned to school while raising her children as a single parent. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Utah and went on to a meaningful career as a licensed psychologist, where she was respected for her intelligence, compassion, and dedication to helping others.
Karol took great joy in her role as grandmother and great grandmother. She was blessed to see her twelve grandchildren grow into adulthood and to welcome great grandchildren into the family. Her grandchildren include Aimee Michele Dahlin (Jeremy), Christopher James Dahlin (Lindsey), Brian Coleman (Katie), Kamille Olive Pike Pacheco (Franco), Kristine Aurelia Guerra, Isak Francisco Pacheco, Sarah Magnuson, Tom Magnuson, John Magnuson, Cait Magnuson, Hallie Magnuson, Nichole Saenz, Michael Saenz, and Anthony Saenz.
Karol’s life was marked by perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and deep love for her family. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the lasting impact she made through her work and her relationships.
