Katerina Kapetaneas

Katerina Kapetaneas, born on October 17, 1934, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in Sparta, Greece. Katina immigrated to the United States in the early 1960's, first joining family in Chicago where she met her husband Nick. They eventually settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and founded the family business Captain's Pizza.

Katina was a devout member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where her faith and community played a significant role in her life. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her active participation in church activities and her support through various contributions.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her sons, Greg (Georgette) of Fairfield; Vacile (Mary) of Pireus, Greece; her grandchildren Katerina, Nico, and Irena; her sister Julia Patsalivas of Canada; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held in Sparta, Greece. The family kindly requests that donations in memory of Katerina be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut, to continue her legacy of faith and charity.
