Katherine Louise McOmber, 74, of Niles Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in Stevensville Michigan after a brief illness.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon on April 18, 2026, at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church at 1139 Huntly Road in Niles Michigan with Michael Smith of Huntly Memorial Baptist Church officiating. A potluck lunch will follow the service in the Ronald Smith Social Hall. Cremation has already taken place.

Kathy was born February 18, 1951, in Niles Michigan, the only child of Thomas L and Jane Mae (Hicks) McOmber.

Kathy attended Ballard Elementary School and graduated from Niles High School in 1970. She went on to receive an associate in arts degree from Lake Michigan college completing her degree in 1988. She worked at Starz academy as a teaching assistant for many years, later becoming a volunteer office assistant at the church.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents both of whom she helped care for with extended illnesses. She is survived by special friends George and Bonnie Erhardt and her family at Huntly Memorial Baptist church all who loved her dearly.

Kathy was a cherished member of the church, a loyal follower of Jesus Christ, living her life daily for Him, the definition of a servant's heart. She was passionate about sharing her love of our Lord with others and did so through the Decolores community, local puppet ministry, Jesus Fest and children's Sunday services to name a few. She was a joy to everyone she met, with a little firecracker of a personality that was infectious.

Now that Kathy has passed into the arms of our savior Christ Jesus, her physical life on earth is over but she has begun a beautiful eternal life in paradise with our Lord. John 11: 25-26 "Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. Everyone who believes in me will live, even though they die: and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." Until we meet again our sweet friend.
