Katherine Mary "Kate" Piccin

Katherine Mary "Kate" Piccin passed away unexpectedly on December 16th, 2025. Her sudden departure deeply impacted her loved ones to whose lives she brought so much light.

Kate was born December 6th, 2002, in Boston. She graduated from Belmont High School in 2021 and from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2025, with a degree in Film and Television.

Kate was a skilled guitarist and performer, and at just 16 joined the Boston-based band Lily Black, playing venues throughout the area and loving every minute of it. She treasured her internship at Q Division Studios and the expansive community of amazing artists who embraced her. Kate's passion for the arts led her to New York to study filmmaking, a medium she pursued to connect with and better understand the people around her.

Kate cared deeply about the feelings of others. She quietly observed those she interacted with, finding ways to uplift them. Her humor caught you off guard, evoking an unexpected image, a meaningful insight, always with steadfast kindness. She had a strong connection to nature, feeling safe in a deep body of water, leading the way down a trail towards an expansive view.

Kate is survived by her loving partner, Sanahin Papazian of Yerevan, Armenia and New York; her brother Adam Piccin of Brooklyn NY; her parents Jason Piccin of Watertown MA and Susan Condrick of Belmont MA; her aunts Maura Condrick of Wellfleet MA, Stephanie Fox of Arlington MA and Celia Connaire of Philadelphia PA; her uncles Jay Condrick (Paula Eramo) of Norwood MA, Michael Condrick (Chrissie Richmond) of Norwalk CT, Colin Connaire of Grosse Pointe Park MI and Luca Piccin of Los Angeles CA; cousins Matthew Fox of Washington DC, Sean Condrick of Brooklyn NY, Celia Condrick of Cambridge MA, Ryan Condrick of Boston MA, Jane Condrick of Norwalk CT, Gillian, Brady and Meaghan Connaire of Grosse Pointe Park MI, and Elsa May Shaulus of North Berwick ME; Sanahin's parents Pegor and Marie Lou Papazian of Yerevan, Armenia; and Sanahin's brothers Vahakn (Madeline Shortt), Souren (Kristian De Leon), Marc, and Vem (Agne). She is pre-deceased by her cousin Molly Connaire and her aunt Amy Piccin.

Kate left a piece of herself with everyone she met, expecting nothing in exchange. Her fearlessness and unconditional love will stay with us forever.

A wake will be held Monday, December 22 from 4PM-7PM at Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Road, Belmont MA. A remembrance service will be held Tuesday, December 23 at 11AM at Payson Park Church, 365 Belmont Street, Belmont MA, with a reception to follow in the church's Gartner Hall.

Kate cherished her visits to Wellfleet and Duxbury Beach and her stays on the Gurnet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project Gurnet & Bug Lights at buglight.org or to P.O. Box 2167, Duxbury, MA 02331-2167.
