Kathleen Joan Farrell, lovingly known as "Kat," passed away on March 5, 2026, in San Luis Obispo, California. Born on March 16, 1950, in San Francisco, California, Kat lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and love.

Kat pursued her passion for helping others by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Her career in nursing was both extensive and impactful, as she worked across various areas of the field. Among her many accomplishments, she was most proud of starting the Congestive Heart Failure program at Marian Hospital—a testament to her commitment to improving the lives of others through her work.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kat found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved dogs and had a deep appreciation for cooking and gardening. She cherished time spent gathering with friends and family, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Kat is survived by her brothers Michael Farrell and Brian Farrell; her sister M. Eileen Odom; and her sisters-in-law Toni Farrell and Tami Farrell. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Vera Farrell.

To those fortunate enough to know Kat, she was more than a sister or friend—she was a source of unwavering support and love. Known for her kindness and wisdom, she was the person everyone turned to for advice or comfort. Her warmth touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.

Kathleen Joan Farrell will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by the many lives she enriched. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing. A Memorial Gathering will be held on May 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Arroyo Grande 275 North Halcyon
