Kathleen Frances Kurylo, Candy as she was affectionately known her whole life, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, March 30. She is a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, James, and her four children; Laura (AJ) Connor, Elizabeth (Daniel) Eisele, Jaime Vazquez, Joseph Kurylo, and her daughter-in-law, Donna Crossley. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; Joseph, William, and Jennifer Crossley; Megan Barron; Brooklyn, Carter, and Paige Eisele; and Leila, Hazel, and Emlyn Crossley. Candy is the oldest of ten children to her late parents, Elizabeth and Lawrence Taphorn of Norristown, Pa. Left to cherish her memory are Susan (the late Charles) Gordon, Teresa (Charles) Nelson, Jennifer (the late Donald) Mangialardi, James (Susan) Taphorn, Richard (Karen) Taphorn, Michael (Jang) Taphorn, and Mary (Joseph) McCann. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence (Theresa) Taphorn and Daniel (Sharon) Schenk, and her oldest son, Joseph Crossley.
Although Candy dabbled in a few different careers, her most important role was that of raising her children. Summers spent down the shore and around the pool are memories her family will never forget. Her home was always filled with family, friends, laughter, food, and memories. It is fair to say that there is not one person in her very large family that does not think fondly of the tremendous Christmas parties she threw every year. She loved having her immediate and extended family together whenever possible. In conjunction with making memories with her family, Candy loved to read and she loved animals even more. She was always most happy when she had her beloved Bouviers by her side. It is certain that she is at peace with her loved ones with her signature cocktail in hand, a Bloody Mary.
