Kathleen Rose (Miller) Shaw passed away on January 4, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply. Born on June 4, 1957, in Spokane, Washington, to Art and June Miller, Kathy grew up in a large, loving family with five siblings and later three adopted brothers.

She met the love of her life, Rick Shaw, at just 14 years old when he became friends with her brothers. Years later they married and built nearly 50 years of life together. Kathy embraced becoming a stepmother to Rick's children, Selina and Adam, and together they welcomed three more children: Troy, Katrina, and Patrick. She cherished being part of a big family, including the many brothers and sisters she gained through Rick's large extended family back east.

Kathy was hardworking, talented, and endlessly capable. Over the years she held many roles, including waitressing at her uncle's bar, working in a doctor's office, running a cleaning business, doing construction work, bookkeeping, and working for Keytronics and Itronix building and repairing computers. She also spent time working alongside Rick on a milk farm in Valley, Washington, and took on countless other endeavors throughout her life.

Outside of work, Kathy loved gardening, casino trips, hosting outdoor family barbecues, playing games day and night with loved ones, camping, and going on sightseeing motorcycle rides with Rick. She also had a well-known love for the color teal. Above all, Kathy lived for her children and grandchildren and would do anything for them without hesitation.

She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Art Miller, and her sisters, Anne Miller and Linda Sprague. She is survived by her husband, Rick Shaw; her mother, June Miller; her brothers Alan (Kenna) Miller, Michael (Debi) Miller, and Leonard Miller; and her adopted brothers Henry Weitz; Joe (Kendra) Weitz; and Ed (Christy) Weitz. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Selina (Mikey) Hagerty; stepson Adam (Chelsea) Westman; son Troy (Meranda) Shaw; daughter Katrina Shaw; son Patrick (Justyne) Shaw; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on May 30, 2026, at the Newman Lake Tri Community Grange, 25025 E Heather Ln, Newman Lake, WA 99025. For additional details, please contact the family; a Facebook event has been created with more information.
