Kathleen Elaine Wicker, 72, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away peacefully in her home on December 25, 2025.
Born Kathleen Coons on July 18, 1953, in El Dorado, KS, she was the daughter of Marjorie and Ira J. Coons. As the youngest of three children, Kathleen showed early leadership as the president of her high school class.
She served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, where she specialized in repairing large-scale computer systems for NORAD. During her service, she broke barriers as crew chief, leading the first all-woman tech crew in the history of the 26th Air Division. Her technical expertise continued with the U.S. Navy, where she repaired submarine-based electronic equipment.
Kathleen was also a compassionate community leader, serving as the director of a homeless shelter in Redwood City, CA. There, she developed innovative educational and housing programs for residents. Later, she began a long-standing career with Harrah's Entertainment in Reno, NV, eventually transferring to Memphis, TN. As an operations supervisor, she supported Harrah's global properties and customers 24/7.
Kathleen is survived by her devoted spouse, Steph; her four children, Rob, Chris, Stephen, and David, and 9 grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her son Luke.
