In Loving Memory of Mom
Kathryn "Kitty" Arline Harrell
April 12, 1927 - November 16, 2025
Kathryn "Kitty" Arline Harrell passed away peacefully at her son Boyd's home in Houston, Texas, at the age of 98 on November 16, 2025.
Kitty was born on April 12, 1927, in Dallas, Texas. She was lovingly referred to as Kitty by her family and friends. She graduated from North Dallas High School. After high school, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she met the love of her life, John Emory Harrell, Jr. They were married on November 21, 1945. She worked for Southwestern Bell for many years, but mostly dedicated her life to raising her four sons: John Emory Harrell, III, Rohnie Lee Harrell, Clifford Keith Harrell, and Boyd Lake Harrell.
She is survived by her sons, John Emory Harrell, III (his children Kim Northup, Brandi Cisco, Kristel Pittsford, Chad Harrell, and Tiffany Harrell), and Boyd Lake Harrell (his wife Jan and daughter Jackie), granddaughter April Cook, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Milton St. Claire Lake (Lignoski); her mother, Nina Belle Durr; her husband, John Emory Harrell, Jr.; her sister, Muriel Mooney; her son, Rohnie Lee Harrell; her son, Clifford Keith Harrell; and her granddaughter Jordyn Isabella Colato and her grandson, Damien Ashley Harrell.
Kitty was loved by all. She was a spiritual woman who loved her family dearly. She was a natural storyteller and loved taking photos. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. We are all comforted to know that she is in the loving arms of God in heaven with her loved ones.
With full hearts, our family announces the homegoing of my precious mother:
