Kathryn (Kay) E Nelson

Kathryn, beloved by family and friends, passed away at age 100. Kay lived a full life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was an accomplished operatic soprano, a performing member of the Dayton Music Club and a life-long member of Christ Episcopal Church in Dayton, serving for many years as a soloist in the choir. She was employed by the Kettering School System as a secretary at Rosewood Elementary School until her retirement. Kay enjoyed her time as an active member of the League of Women Voters.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Alfred A Nelson. She is survived by her 3 children, Leslie K Nogle (Timothy, decd), William A Nelson and Robert N Nelson (Donna), grandchildren, Tara Wright (Todd), Dr. Matthew Nogle, Ian Nelson and Whitney Fuller (Paul), great-grandchildren, Samantha Crotty, Caden Crotty, Parker Fuller and Kinsley Fuller.

The family gratefully acknowledges the loving and compassionate service provided by her caregivers and Hospice of Dayton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00am at Christ Episcopal Church, 20 W. First St, Dayton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or Hospice of Dayton.
