Kathryn R. Keener, 88, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Born on September 18, 1937, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John E. Keener and Reba E. Keener of Millersville, Pennsylvania.
Kathryn resided in Phoenix, Arizona, for over 50 years and held a deep appreciation for the state’s rich history and historic sites. Her love for Arizona was evident to all who knew her.
A dedicated bookkeeper by profession, Kathryn found great joy and fulfillment in her work with numbers and office tasks. Her passion for her career was so strong that she was reluctant to retire, and her contributions were highly valued by her employers.
Kathryn enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched her life. She loved cross-stitching, collecting stamps, and caring for her cherished feline companions over the years. She kept an album dedicated to the cats she adored.
Faith played a central role in Kathryn’s life. She was a member of Grace Mennonite Church in Phoenix, where she found community and spiritual connection. Known for her warm smile and infectious laugh, Kathryn was deeply loved by her family, friends, and church community.
She is survived by her nephew James C. Keener; niece Carolyn A. Andracsek; and great-niece Tess Kennedy. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother John C. Keener; and her nephew David C. Keener.
Kathryn will be laid to rest at Living Light Masonville Mennonite Church Cemetery in Washington Boro, Pennsylvania, alongside her parents.
