1956-2025
Kathy (Bone) Dunne was born in Sacramento, CA on June 27, 1956 and passed away on November 5, 2025 at the age of 69 after a 10-month valiant fight against a brain tumor. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and she is deeply missed.
Kathy was the second child of Wayne and Alice Bone who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her older brother Terry.
Kathy is survived by Stephen Dunne, her husband of 27 years, her son Jonathan Rapelje and his wife Crystal, her daughter Ashley Ross, her brother James Bone and her three grandchildren, Davin Johnson, Caleb Rapelje, and Chance Ross.
Kathy grew up in Sacramento. After graduating from Hiram Johnson High School, she went on to work for the State of California Employment Development Department for over 25 years. Kathy retired in April of 2020 allowing her time to devote to her passions which included spending time with her family, gardening, baking, Pilates, and hot yoga. She was especially famous for her cheesecakes and many assortments of cookies, a true treat she regularly shared with her loved ones. Kathy also treasured music and in the last 2 years of her life, she began singing with Lydia Pense & Cold Blood and Zenn Vudu, joining her guitarist husband Stephen (Steve) on stage.
Most of all, Kathy loved God and cherished her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and brother were the most important thing in the world to her, and she made sure God had a place in their lives and the tight knit group of friends she cherished. We know she is dancing and singing in His arms while watching over those she loved.
Kathy's memorial service will be on January 17, 1:00 PM at the Clunie Community Center, 601 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95816.
