Kathy Jones Ball, 69, passed away on November 21, 2025 at her home in Slade KY. Kathy lived a life filled with faith, love, and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of her home state.
Kathy was born in Bourbon Co. to the late Rev. Preston Ollie Jones and Betty Vice Jones on August 6th 1956. Kathy was preceded in death by both parents and her brothers Lonnie Jones (Rhoda), Michael Jones, Jeffrey Jones. Sister Beverly Jones Millersburg Ky, nephew Davy (Elizabeth) Jones of Trentonville TN, niece Rita Sue Jones of Trentonville Tn, Jennifer Jones of Millersburg, KY. Kathy received her Practical Nursing degree and immediately started her love of working in long term healthcare at Old Masons Home in Shelbyville Ky, 1976, While working she went on to receive her Associate in Business Management from the University of Kentucky in 1980. After 35 years retired from Brooks Place in Winchester, KY. Kathy is survived by her longtime companion of 39 years Frank Morris of Slade, KY, daughter Abby Ball Griffith (Scott) of Lexington, KY, and many loved ones.
A devoted Christian throughout her life, Kathy's unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her identity. She often expressed her beliefs with heartfelt sincerity and joyfully shared her favorite saying: "We celebrate Jesus here in our home—it only takes two more." Her spiritual strength radiated through her words and actions, leaving a lasting impression on all who loved her.
Kathy found peace and inspiration in the rolling hills and majestic mountains of Kentucky. She cherished listening to music through the countryside, where she could soak in the serene landscapes that brought her so much happiness. Her love for collecting antiques and religious photos reflected both her reverence for history and the depth of her spirituality.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Kathy remember her as someone with an open heart—generous with a smile. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to many lives.
A memorial service to honor Kathy's life will be held on December 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Slade Church of God on HWY 15.
