Kavian Sebastian Sabery “Kavi,” of Newton, passed peacefully at home on March 9, 2026, at the age of 24.
Kavi was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to his devoted and loving parents, Kayvan Sabery and Nicoletta Noor. A proud Iranian American, he spoke fluent Farsi with his family and friends and remained deeply connected to his heritage.
Kavi was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mahin Rouzrokh and Mehdi Sabery. He is lovingly survived by his parents, Kayvan Sabery and Nicoletta Noor; his maternal grandparents, Nasrin Sabet and Djallal Noor; his uncle, Naveed Nour; his aunt, Zohreh Firouzabadian; and countless dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Raised in Newton, Kavi brought joy wherever he went. His infectious smile, warm spirit, and genuine kindness made him someone people were naturally drawn to. He formed lifelong friendships from his earliest school years through college, always staying connected to those he cared about.
Kavi graduated from Newton South High School in 2020, where he was a proud member of the varsity tennis team. He went on to attend Babson College in Wellesley, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business in 2024, and had plans to pursue his master’s degree.
A fearless and passionate athlete, Kavi embraced life through movement and adventure. He played soccer, skateboarded, skied, and performed daring trampoline flips before discovering his love for tennis, where he developed an impressive game with his forehand often compared to that of Rafa Nadal. He also enjoyed mountain biking, practicing parkour, and most recently, taught himself how to ride a racing motorbike.
Kavi was not only athletic but also exceptionally creative and talented with his hands. At just 12 years old, he designed and built his own electric skateboard. Over time, he became a skilled carpenter, most notably designing and building a remarkable treehouse in his backyard where family and friends gathered to create lasting memories.
Anyone who knew Kavi knew his extraordinary kindness and generosity. He was a natural problem solver, always ready to help—whether fixing a technical issue, assisting a friend, or patiently helping his grandmother with her iPhone. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made sure those around him felt happy and included. He loved music, movies, cooking, and hosting friends, and was known for making the best pancakes, scrambled eggs, and pasta.
Above all, Kavi was gentle, compassionate, and deeply caring. He showed up for others in meaningful ways, offering support, comfort, and companionship during both joyful and difficult times. His positive outlook on life was contagious, lifting the spirits of everyone around him.
Kavi left this world far too soon, but he leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
May the Force be with him.
Kavian’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. David Ebb, MD, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
