Kayla Louise McDaniel (Nunley), 36, of Clarksville, MO, passed away on December 14th, 2025.
She was born in Peoria, IL in 1989 to Mark and Shon McDaniel, and grew up amongst many friends in her childhood neighborhood, Oak Ridge. Kayla attended Metamora Township High School before entering the workforce, most recently working as a correctional officer in Louisiana, MO.
Kayla is survived by her husband, David Nunley; parents, Mark and Shon McDaniel; siblings, Caitlin (Dylan) Myers, Mark (Sammantha) McDaniel; nephews, Grayson and Hudson Myers, William McDaniel; grandparents Linda (George) Rademaker, Chuck and Darlene McDaniel; aunt Tina (Todd) Michalec, uncles John (Gretchen) Evans, Brian McDaniel; cousins Makinzie, Mollie, Brayden, Sophia, Alyssa; and numerous other family members and friends.
Kayla was adventurous, passionate, and had an unending sense of humor. She loved spending time at our family cabin and going fishing with her husband and friends. She was proud of her artistic abilities and painted many beautiful works. Kayla’s laugh was contagious, and if you heard it, you would soon join in. She was the life of the party and spread joy to anyone she could.
She is now spending time with her many dogs in Heaven.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 19th at Christian Union Church, located at 925 W. Walnut St., Metamora, IL. All are welcome to honor her at this open house event from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. If you knew Kayla, you would know she would want nothing more than a celebration.
