Keith McGill died on February 21st, 2026 in San Diego, California at the age of 62 surrounded by friends and family. He was born on March 14th, 1963 in Long Beach California. His father was on the police force for Seal Beach. He eventually moved to San Diego with his mother and sister to the San Diego region where he spent most of his life.
Keith was the first in his family to attend college and graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree and worked as a paralegal. He volunteered for San Diego Pride, Lamda Archives and Gays for Good among others. He was valued and appreciated by all the organizations he volunteered for.
Some people collect stamps, Keith collected friends. With everything he did including skydiving, attending college, and volunteering, he acquired new friends. By the end of his life he had many longtime close friends. He also loved being an uncle to his sister Terri’s children Crissy and Leslie.
In addition to his beloved sport of skydiving he loved camping, riding his motorcycle, maintaining his 1966 mustang and spending time with friends and family. He was a lover of animals both wild and domestic. He had a number of lucky pets including Brandy the dog and Camillo the cat. He was also a favorite of his friends’ cats and dogs and a trusted pet sitter.
Keith was kind, generous, and had a wicked sense of humor. He is survived by his sister Terri Goldsmith, her husband Les, niece Crissy, nephew Leslie, and his Aunt Sandy. He was preceded in death by his father and beloved mother Barbara. His previous partner and lifelong friend Paul Harris and his many, many friends will miss him.
A memorial celebration will be held in San Diego at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the San Diego Humane Society.
