Kelly Maria Reed

Kelly Maria Reed passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2026, in Patriot, Indiana.

Born on July 5, 1958, Kelly was the daughter of the late Harold E. Reed and the late Sarah V. Johnson. She was one of nine children.

Kelly was a thoughtful mother, grandmother, and beloved member of her family whose life was rooted in love and faith. A woman of unshakable conviction, she drew strength from her beliefs. Her independent spirit shaped her journey, balanced by a sharp wit and playful humor that brought light to those around her. With perfectly timed remarks, she often turned ordinary moments into cherished ones filled with laughter.

A passionate gardener, Kelly found solace in the rhythm of planting and nurturing her flower and vegetable gardens. Whether coaxing life from stubborn soil or marveling at new blooms, she discovered peace in the cycles of growth and renewal.

Kelly is survived by her daughters: Sarah (Matthew), Stephany, and Shannon (Brandon), who were the center of her world. She also leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Kelly was preceded in death by two siblings, Shannon and Mark.

She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, deep love for family, strong-willed nature, and the special moments created through her humor. May the love she planted in so many hearts continue to grow and bring comfort in the days ahead.

A private celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to plant a tree or tend a garden in tribute to her enduring spirit.
