Kelly Margaret Vento (Corbin), age 60, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Raymore, Missouri. Her passing marks the end of courageous battles with multiple health issues, ending with cancer—a fight she faced with unwavering strength and resilience.
Kelly was born on October 31, 1965, in the United States. She grew up in Raytown, MO and proudly graduated from Raytown South High School. Kelly lived a life defined by dedication, warmth, and an enduring love for her family and community. She devoted nearly three decades to Nova School, where she made a lasting impact through her commitment to education and the well-being of students. Following her time at Nova School, she continued her service to others with ten years at St. Luke's Crittenton Children's Center, offering care and support to children in need.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with, and cheering on her grandchildren—Lilli, Halynn, Vegas, Luci, Shelbi, Niko, Leo and Axel, celebrating their milestones with pride and enthusiasm. She absolutely loved being a 'Nana'. Whether cooking a favorite meal, preparing for the holidays, crafting something special by hand, or organizing family events that brought everyone together, Kelly poured love into every detail. Her giving nature and fun-loving spirit touched all who knew her.
Kelly had a unique way of caring for those closest to her—offering not just support but specific attention that made each person feel seen and cherished. Even as cancer took its toll in cruel ways, she remained fiercely present for those she loved.
Kelly’s life was deeply rooted in family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael; her son, Tyler Corbin; her daughter, Nichole Jacobs; and her brother, John Corbin. Though preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marilyn, and her brother Dave, Kelly carried their memory with her throughout her life.
Mike would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his daughter Ali Vento and Kelly's dear friend Tarin Cook for their compassionate care during Kelly's final days. He also deeply appreciates the entire crew at Peculiar Barber Shop. Specifically Gary Wieberg and Monte Burgess, but also plenty of others for their unwavering support through this difficult time.
Per her request, there will be a celebration of her life, consisting of great food, lots of laughs, shared memories & a day full of 1980's rock and roll, probably consisting of several Poison songs. Details and date coming soon.
May Kelly's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
