Kenneth Raymond Milley died on Feb. 5, 2026, in Champlin, Minnesota, after a yearslong struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 80.

Born in Melrose, Massachusetts, on Sept. 7, 1945, Ken grew up in Wakefield and spent most of his life in Shrewsbury. He retired to Sarasota, Florida, and loved going to the beach, watching sunsets on Siesta Key and hunting for fossils.

A dedicated, hardworking and loyal family man, Ken took great pride in his career accomplishments and those of his children and grandchildren. He was a skilled handyman, car mechanic and woodworker. He had a quirky, wry sense of humor and got the biggest kick out of his four grandchildren. They got a kick out of him, too.

The 1963 graduate of Shrewsbury High School enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served three tours during the Vietnam War on aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea as an aviation electrician.

Upon his return, he completed courses in radio and television repair and a separate certificate program in computer hardware design. He retired after 30 years as a hardware engineer with Data General Corporation in Westborough.

He leaves behind his daughters, Brenda Wintrode (Jon) of Annapolis, Maryland, and Stacey Caplinger (Mike) of Scituate, Massachusetts, and their mother Suellen (Spring) Milley, and his grandchildren, Tim and Alice Wintrode and Abby and Nolan Caplinger.

He also leaves behind a brother Edward H. Milley Jr. of Virginia, and a sister Barbara Literski of Minnesota and their families. He’s predeceased by his parents Edward H. Milley Sr. and Ruth (Bunnell) Milley Nelson. His family is planning a private memorial service later this year.
