The family of Kenneth Nash, with profound sadness, announces his death on December 12, 2025. Ken was a highly respected labor activist. His brother “admires his devotion to the well-being of all laborers,” noting “he was always seeking to give voice to those who are underserved and underappreciated.” Ken received his Bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn. College and a Master of Library Science from the University of Illinois. His devotion to community service was evident as librarian at Queensborough Public Library and as librarian for DC 37. At DC 37, he helped members enrolled in college courses to expand their horizons, sought to enhance the library’s resources, and supported a variety of other continuing education opportunities.
Ken was a valued volunteer at WBAI where, for many years, with Mimi Rosenberg, he cohosted the esteemed nationally aired broadcast, Building Bridges. Together they addressed crucial social issues. His sister-in-law recalls, “their creative interviews advanced public awareness and furthered meaningful dialogue over extremely relevant but often neglected social, economic and political problems.” His colleague marvels, “with his enormous intellect, he was a reservoir of knowledge. He loved his fellow workers and gave tremendously of himself.”
Ken was loved by his niece, grandniece and grandnephew who will cherish the holidays they spent together and the memories he created through his warm laugh and thoughtful and creative gifts that provided years of delight.
