Kenneth Whitener

Kenneth Whitener was born on July 3, 1943 to Memrie Marshall Whitener and Glenna Belle Dawkins Whitener of Greensboro, NC. He passed away on January 5, 2026 at Wesley Long Hospital after a brief illness. Kenneth graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS in Science and Business Administration in 1966. He loved music, was devoted to his pets, enjoyed watching sports (especially Carolina Basketball), and cared deeply about his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor. His ho,ho,ho jokes will be missed by all who knew him. He was quiet and often a man of few words but his family knew he would give everything he had for them.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Winn Whitener. He is survived by daughters
Robin St Hillaire, Stephanie Pope, Natalie Whitener, and Karen Kelly; sons-in-law, Dean St Hillaire, Darrick Pope, Noel Acevedo, and Ezra Kelly. He had eight grandchildren; Dexter Levette, Jade Levette, Jazman Whitener, Elise Kelly, Kenneth St Hillaire, Paris Pope, Deana St Hillaire, and Javier Acevedo-Whitener. He leaves 10 great grandchildren; Arimeeh Mack, DeMari Levette, Aiden Levette, Deliah Levette, Nini Wiley, Jailyn Stevens, Athena Moore, Acaeli Levette, Ivyonna Guy, Jonathan Guy, and a great, great granddaughter Evangeline Jefferson.
Kenneth was deeply loved and his presence is greatly missed.
