Kenneth Bruce Williamson, a devoted law enforcement officer, classic car enthusiast, and beloved family man, passed away on March 6, 2026, in Santa Rosa, California. He was 75 years old.

Ken was born on March 14, 1950, in San Jose, California, to Raymond and Vera Williamson. He grew up in San Jose alongside his brother Donald and graduated from Leland High School in 1968. From an early age, Ken demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for helping others. While still in high school, he began working at a full-service gas station, where he pumped gas and checked oil, an early glimpse of his commitment to doing things the right way.

Ken's career in law enforcement began when he became a campus police officer at San Jose City College. In March of 1972, he joined the San Jose Police Department as a police officer. A decade later, seeking a better life for his family, Ken moved to Santa Rosa in April of 1982 and joined the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff. Over the years, he worked various shifts "up north," served as a bailiff in the courts, and played an instrumental role as part of the off-road motorcycle unit. He also served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), mentoring new deputies with patience and wisdom.

Ken retired as a full-time deputy in April of 2011 but continued to serve his community as extra help with the department. Proudly wearing his uniform until his final days, Ken dedicated more than 50 years of his life to law enforcement, a testament to his unwavering loyalty and sense of duty.

Outside of his career, Ken lived life with enthusiasm and joy. He was deeply involved in the Redwood Empire Classic Chevy Club, serving as its president for numerous years after joining in 1982. A passionate collector of old license plates and restorer of classic cars, Ken's love for automobiles extended beyond mere hobby; it was a lifelong passion that brought him immense pride and fulfillment. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and cherished rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. One of his most memorable adventures came after his retirement when he embarked on a cross-country journey on his Harley Davidson, spending three weeks traveling coast to coast, a true "Easy Rider" experience.

Ken's playful spirit and quick wit endeared him to everyone who knew him. He had an innate ability to bring joy to those around him with his humor and lightheartedness. A natural coach and mentor, Ken guided others with encouragement and integrity, whether coaching little league baseball teams or offering wisdom to colleagues and friends. His love for the outdoors and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a cherished presence in every community he touched.

Above all else, Ken treasured time spent with his family. He is survived by his partner Dona Romano; daughter Dusti Napolitano and her husband Joseph; son Drew Williamson and his wife Monique; granddaughters Jordan and Khloe Napolitano; and grandsons Brixton and Ollie Williamson. His family brought him immense pride and joy, especially his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless special moments.

Ken was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Vera Williamson and his brother Donald Williamson (who died in Vietnam, serving our country.) Though their loss was profound, Ken carried their memory with him throughout his life.

Ken's legacy is one of hard work, loyalty, integrity, and an unyielding zest for life. His presence made life brighter for those fortunate enough to know him. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.

A celebration of Ken's remarkable life will be held April 12th from 2-6pm at Paradise Ridge Winery in Santa Rosa.
