1969 - 2025
Kerry (Fitzwilliam) Brosnihan, of Austin, Texas (formerly of Natick, Massachusetts), passed away peacefully on December 16 at the age of 56, after a long and courageous six-year battle with colon cancer. Kerry's doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston worked tirelessly to treat her illness and were able to give her more time with her friends, family, and—most of all—her husband Tim and her sons, John and Calvin.
Kerry was born on March 17, 1969—St. Patrick's Day. She spent her early years in Foxboro, MA; Dobbs Ferry, NY; and Canton, MA. Kerry was a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Dedham, MA, and Wheaton College in Norton, MA.
Kerry had a deep love for theater and the arts. While living in Natick, she enjoyed acting in many community theater productions. She was also a dedicated activist, taking part in Moms Demand Action lobbying efforts and writing postcards before each election to help get out the vote.
Kerry is survived by her husband of 24 years, Tim. Together, they raised their sons, John and Calvin, first in Natick and later in Austin. Kerry was a devoted mother who generously volunteered her time at her boys' schools and was always creating enriching family activities. As a new mom in Natick, she helped form a moms' group whose members have remained close for the past 23 years.
Kerry was predeceased by her beloved mother, Charlene (Ruggiero) Fitzwilliam. She is survived by her father, Michael Fitzwilliam, of Quincy, Massachusetts (formerly of Canton); her sister Nadine Fitzwilliam Steffan and her husband Alex Steffan, of Quincy, and their children, Emma and Matthew; and her sister Michele Fitzwilliam and her wife Stephanie, of Westminster, Colorado, and their children, Ursa and Whitman.
Kerry is also survived by the Brosnihan family, who were a constant source of love, support, and joy throughout her life. This includes her mother-in-law Mary Brosnihan; her sister-in-law Christine DiGregorio and her husband Mike, and their children, Nikki (Evan) and Anna (Dylan); and her brother-in-law Dave Brosnihan and his wife Kate, of Natick, Massachusetts, and their children, Olivia, Liam, and Emilie.
Kerry loved traveling the world, but most of all she looked forward to her annual trip to Cape Cod, where she reconnected with friends and family, watched sunsets at Mayflower Beach, and enjoyed her favorite food—lobster rolls.
Our hearts are broken to lose her at such a young age.
A celebration of life will be held in the coming months in MA, details to come.
