It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Kevin Matthew Bowsher, on October 18, 2025 at the age of 35, of heart failure at his home in Jacksonville, FL. Kevin, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend was born on October 9, 1990 in New Britian, CT to David Bowsher and Susan Rohman Arpin (fka Susan Rohman Bowsher).
Kevin's childhood years were spent in Milford, MA, Pascoag, RI, and Dallas, TX. His mother and stepfather, David Arpin, relocated to South Carolina in 2005 where Kevin fully embraced the Southern culture, spending his time golfing, boating fishing and hunting. His favorite pastime was spent floating on Lake Murray with friends and family. And one of his fondest memories was with his father and grandfather at the 2008 US Open Torrey Pines on the 18th green, witnessing Tiger Woods dramatic round which forced a playoff, and the following day's win.
Kevin touched many lives with his wisdom, humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. Those who knew him will remember him for his infectious smile, his goofy laugh, and his unquenchable thirst for knowledge, especially of U.S History.
He was also known for his strong will, his commitment to work, and his love and support for his friends and family, in particular his sisters, Elizabeth Bowsher Estrada and Alexis Arpin Tracey.
Kevin graduated with honors from Batesburg-Leesville High School in Leesville, SC where he also played trumpet for four years, culminating in winning the 2008 SCBDA Marching Band Championship. Kevin went on to proudly serve his country for two years in the United States Navy as a Mineman. Following his two years of service, Kevin worked as an Armorer for Palmetto Armory in Columbia, SC where his expertise and work ethic propelled him into a Management role at Special Tool Solutions in Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, Kevin is survived by his father and stepmother, David and JC Bowsher (Eatonton, GA), his sister and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bowsher Estrada and Nicole Estrada (Los Angeles, CA), his stepsister and brother-in-law, Alexis Arpin Tracey and David Tracey (West Warwick, RI), and his aunts and uncles: Robert Bowsher of San Diego, CA, Thomas Rohman (Anne) of Midlothian, VA, Ann Rohman Palumbo (Ralph) of Tucson, AZ, Jane Rohman (John Bianco) of Blandford, MA, Mary Rohman of Santa Fe, NM, Nancy Rohman Watkins (John) of Manhattan Beach, CA. Also surviving Kevin are his 12 cousins: Katherine Rohman Ollinger, Timothy and Michael Rohman, Chelsea Rohman Jackson, Jake Booth and Amanda Booth Brandon, Peter and Michael Mattson, John Rohman Bianco Jr., Grace, Genevieve and Hanna Watkins, and his beloved nephew and niece, Logan and Raegan Tracey.
Waiting for him at the Door to Heaven are his uncle, James (Jim) Michael Rohman, maternal grandparents, Paul and Patricia Rohman, and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Charmian Bowsher.
Although Kevin's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Kevin will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A funeral service celebrating Kevin's life will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road, Chapin, SC. We invite all who knew and loved Kevin to join us in honoring his life. A reception will immediately follow the service at Our Lady of the Lake.
