Kevin Joseph Kerney, 62, passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 22, 1963, in Berea, Ohio, Kevin lived a life defined by generosity, practical skill, and a steadfast dedication to those around him.
A graduate of Midpark High School and Polaris Vocational School, Kevin studied electricity and developed a broad set of hands-on skills that served him throughout his life. Known as a true jack of all trades, he was always ready to lend his expertise—whether fixing something at home or helping others with their projects. His helpful spirit left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Kevin had a deep passion for cooking and was widely recognized as an excellent cook and grill master. His meals brought people together and created lasting memories for family and friends. An outdoorsman, he shared his love of fishing with his four sons and could be found on the golf course every Sunday, rain or shine.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons: Nicholas, Christopher (Rachel), Joseph (Reyn), and Aaron (Jackie). Kevin was a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Aubrey. He is also remembered by his brother James (Rita), and sisters Colleen (Paul - deceased), Kim, and Kelly Tielke (Richard), former spouse, Liz Kerney, and former partner, Denise Vitale.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean (nee Strasser); sister Beverly Leventry (Leonard - deceased); and his brother Gregory (Debbie).
He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
Kevin's memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
