Kevin Francis Moriarty, passed away on January 13, 2025, in Lake Villa, Illinois. Prior to his recent move to Lake Villa, he had resided for many years in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Kevin was born to A.E. (Gene) and Mardell Moriarty in Storm Lake, Iowa, on October 7, 1957. He attended St. Mary's Elementary and High Schools in Storm Lake, graduating in 1976. In 1980 he received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University of Winona, Minnesota, where he studied English literature and served as editor of The Troll.

Kevin was dedicated to human rights, child welfare, and animal well being. His long career of service included the Human Rights Campaign, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, the Population Resource Center, the Washington County Maryland Arts Council, and the Frederick Maryland Humane Society.

He was an accomplished cook and musician who enjoyed travel and made repeated trips to Ireland, Scotland, and France.

He adopted many elderly dogs, providing them with love and care in their final years.

Kevin will be remembered by many for his humor, kindness, intellect, and generosity of spirit.

He is survived by sisters Jean Moriarty Krohn and Kathleen Moriarty.
