Kevin Shail

Kevin Shail, 70, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1955, at Danbury Hospital to the late Clarence Shail and Stephanie Mary Shail (Markiewicz).

Affectionately known as the "Fan Man," collector of Hot Air Fans and various mechanical devices. Kevin spent most of his working life as a dedicated lithographic printer with Modern Printing, and Quebecor Printing where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Kevin had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life and was happiest attending antique shows featuring steam engines and hot air fans.

Kevin was a was a lifelong member of the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association, Antique Fan Collectors Association and was an activate attendee at the Antique Automobile Club of America held in Hershey, PA. for 50 years.

Kevin is survived by his sister, Joan Allen, and her husband, Carl. He was a loving uncle to Cindy Cotter (husband Sean) and Kim Shrum (husband Cameron), and a proud great-uncle to Rowan and great-nieces, Harper, Eva and Brynn, all of whom brought him great joy. He is also survived by extended family members and many friends who will miss him dearly. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Stephanie Shail.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, CT. A funeral for the family will be held at a later date.

Kevin will be remembered for his loyalty, quiet strength, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
