Kim H. Collins, 80, passed away on October 23, 2025, in Auburn, California. Born on December 22, 1944, in Fresno, California, Kim led a life marked by intellectual pursuit, professional dedication, and personal passion.
A fourth generation Californian, Kim graduated from McClatchy High School and Sacramento City College. He earned a bachelor degree from Stanford University and a law degree from U.C. Law San Francisco. Post graduation, Kim spent a year studying religion at Boston College Theology School, reflecting his lifelong curiosity and commitment to learning.
Kim built a distinguished career as a lawyer, practicing in Santa Monica, Sacramento, and Auburn. Among the many accomplishments of his legal career was the notable achievement of arguing a case before the California Supreme Court—an honor that underscored both his legal acumen and dedication to the profession. Outside of his work in the courtroom, Kim enjoyed the Sport of Kings, horse racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith B. Collins and Virginia G. Collins. He is remembered by his brothers Kendall D. Collins and Kelly B. Collins, and his favorite nephew, Liam K. Collins.
Kim was laid to rest at New Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, California.
