Kim Edward Rush, 49, passed away on December 10, 2025, one day before his 50th birthday in Reno, Nevada. Born on December 11, 1975, in Ohio, Kim spent most of his life in Northern Nevada, where he built a life rooted in family, faith, and hard work.
A proud graduate of Douglas High School's class of 1995, Kim briefly attended Western Nevada College before answering a call to serve others. From 1995 to 1997, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During this time, he learned Portuguese and later gained familiarity with Spanish and basic American Sign Language, reflecting his curiosity and desire to connect with others. His dedication to service began early, earning him the rank of Eagle Scout.
In 1997, while working at JCPenney, Kim met Tracy—the love of his life. They were married in 1998 and together built a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Kim was a deeply proud husband and father to their three children, Maddison, Calista, and Gideon Rush, and a cherished "Papa" to his granddaughter, Amelia Fullerton. Family was the center of Kim's world, and he found his greatest joy in caring for those he loved.
Kim was known professionally for his strong work ethic, reliability, and leadership. He spent his career as a warehouse supervisor and worked at Panasonic for the past eight years. Those who worked alongside him knew him as a steady, organized, and dedicated leader who approached his responsibilities with integrity and care.
Outside of work, Kim's personality truly shined. He had a lifelong love of video games, movies, television shows, and football, and especially treasured playing Dungeons & Dragons with his uncle and siblings. Music was another great passion, he loved all genres —Phil Collins was his all-time favorite. He enjoyed collecting football cards and hunting for collectible toys, pursuits he approached with both excitement and patience. His appreciation for art, sparked in high school, remained with him throughout his life.
Family vacations were among Kim's most treasured experiences. He loved road trips and the simple magic of time spent together—sharing laughs, discovering new places, and making memories that would last a lifetime.
Kim is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy Rush; his children, Maddison, Calista, and Gideon Rush; his granddaughter, Amelia Fullerton; his father, Howard Rush; stepmother, Diane Rush; siblings Kyle Rush, Bryan Rush, Darryl Rush, and Alyson Rush-Weber; and many extended family members who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Ann Kincaid; his brother, JY Cammon; his grandmother, Elizabeth Eubanks; his grandfather, Robert Howard Rush; and his grandmothers, Ferel Rush and Grandma Bea.
Kim's legacy is one of unwavering love, quiet strength, faith, and kindness. He will be remembered for the devotion he showed to his family, the joy he found in life's simple pleasures, and the love he freely gave. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
