Kirby Ghoston

Kirby Ghoston was born on April 2, 1960, in Winona, Mississippi, to the late Oscar Ghoston Sr. and Mamie Lucille (Humphrey) Siler. He departed this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Kirby proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Private, where he worked in telecommunications, a role he spoke of with great pride throughout his life. He was a disabled veteran who carried his service with honor. Kirby also worked at Chapman Laundry for a time.
Kirby was blessed to be part of a large, loving family who never let him walk alone and he loved them just as fiercely in return. With brothers and sisters spread from Mississippi to Indiana, the Ghoston and Humphrey family has remained close through the years, bound by love and loyalty. Kirby was carried by that love throughout his life.
He cherished all of his nieces and nephews, and shared a special bond with Tristan (Lesa) Negroni and Nicki (Marce) Martin, who never failed to bring a smile to his face. He will be remembered for his warm heart and his deep love for his family.
Kirby is preceded in death by Parents: Oscar Ghoston Sr. and Mamie Lucille (Humphrey) Siler; Siblings, Robert Kimball 'Bobby', Willie Otis 'Ricky' (Janice, cherishing memories) Ghoston, Oscar Ghoston Jr., Adolph Ghoston, Anna Bell Ellis, and Ennis Ghoston.
He leaves to cherish his memory Brothers: Joseph (Colleen) Humphrey of Gary, Indiana; Larry (Dorothy) Ghoston of Collinsville, Mississippi; Douglas (Tina) Ghoston of Portage, Indiana.
Sisters: Faye Lillard of Gary, Indiana (David, who sends love from Heaven); Margaret (Wayne) Williams of East Chicago, Indiana; Flora Bell Seals of Lawton, Oklahoma; Eula Mae Scott of Harvey, Illinois.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
