Born on February 10, 1942, in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan, to Rinshiro and Yaeko Ogawa, Kiyomi later moved to the United States with her husband, Edward Peed, after they met while he was stationed in Japan with the U.S. Navy. They lived in Big Sur, California until they moved to Arizona which was her final residence. She built a life rooted in strength and resilience, learning to speak, read, and write English.
Kiyomi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughter, Candy (David) Heathman; her grandchildren, Britney (Anthony) Bueno, Donovan Heathman, and Shaun (Alexis) Heathman; and her great-grandchildren, Julian, Ava, Sierra, Adam, and Odin.
She expressed her love through food, eating, and cooking. She was known for her warmth, easily making friends wherever she went, even during hospital stays, where her kindness left a lasting impression.
Kiyomi was her daughter’s biggest supporter, taking pride in everything she did and encouraging her in all pursuits. A strong and resilient woman, she remained active and devoted to her family throughout her life. She loved all her family whole heartedly and without judgment.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved. She was everything and more.
