Kristin Elizabeth Reitz

Kristin Elizabeth Reitz June 2, 1967-March 9, 2025

Kristin was welcomed into this world on June 2nd, 1967 by her mother Mary Elizabeth (née Bonin), father Howard Emerick Reitz, and big brother Erik W. Reitz.

Her early childhood was in Wyckoff NJ. In her teen years, Kristin's family moved to Hamilton NJ where she remained. The Reitz/Bonin family consisted of many Aunts, Uncles and cousins who were a standard part of holidays, weekend trips and the annual family get together weekend in the Catskills.

Kristin's father Howard died quickly and unexpectedly when she was 19. His passing impacted her greatly.

Kristin's greatest joy was being a mother to her two daughters Cheyenne Starr and Leighanna Starr. She was able to be home full time with them when they were young and fully immersed herself into giving them the highest level of support and affection she could. She was extremely proud of the kind young women they have become.

Before her girls were born Kristin worked for 15+ years at the Merrill Lynch health club. She also did some retail work later, especially enjoying putting together eye catching displays. She did this at home as well, changing out the theme and colors at home regularly for a fresh new look!

Kristin's care for others extended into her years as a nanny for multiple families in the area. She especially loved providing support and advice for families with twins during their early months of adjustment.

Kristin's smile was ever present and she was always gentle and kind to all people. She never spoke badly about anyone. Even when she was having struggles, as are a part of life, she was always kind and forgiving and looking for ways to help others.

Kristin fought against an aggressive cancer since Spring 2024, and accepted her diagnosis, putting it into God's hands. She prayed to God daily and was peaceful in accepting her own death, in knowing that she would see her father again when she left this earth. She was with her family at home as she took her final breath on the morning of March 9th, 2025.
