Kristina Lee Reiersgard, a bright light, courageous storyteller, and loving daughter, sister, and friend, left this world on February 27 at the age of 41 with her family at her side. Kristi’s joy, compassion, and sense of wonder will remain with those who loved her, a lasting reminder of how deeply she cared. Those who knew her will remember her faith in people and her ability to make others feel valued.
Kristi was born on May 21st, 1984, near Seattle, Washington. Many of her young years were spent living overseas mingling with diverse peoples and cultures, giving her an appreciation and understanding of a broader community. Later, she traveled across the U.S. as part of a children’s theater, lived in New York, Los Angeles, Georgia, and Florida, before returning to the Pacific Northwest in more recent years.
Kristi attended schools in Washington, Saudi Arabia, and the UK, graduating from the University of Washington with degrees in Drama and Speech and Hearing Sciences. She moved on to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London for an advanced degree in Voice Studies. As a Dialect Coach for film and Television she helped many actors find their voice. Later, she honed her own unique voice as a writer of screenplays, including a short film about her experience with cancer titled Branches.
Kristi is survived by her parents Diane and Dennis Reiersgard and brother Nick Reiersgard, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Plans of a celebration of Kristi’s life are underway. We will appreciate hearing about how Kristi has touched your life.
