Kristine Lynn Haiflich, of Newport Beach, California gained her angel wings on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. For the past 17 months, Krissy fought with incredible strength and grace to overcome stage four leiomyosarcoma cancer. She fought daily to be the 1% miracle and beat the cancer. She never complained, always stayed positive, and kept her faith strong.
Krissy was born June 24, 1969 in Ravenna, Ohio to Mary (Welsh) and Jan Haiflich. As a child she loved spending her days and nights with her grandma and grandpa Haiflich at their cottage, on Muzzy Lake where many of her friends, and cousins also spent their summers.
Krissy attended elementary and middle school in Ravenna, before moving to Hudson, Ohio in high school. She loved spending time with friends. This is also the time that she developed a love for fashion.
She attended Kent State, Ursuline College, and the Fashion Institute of Technology to pursue her love of fashion. After graduating college, Krissy spent time in Colorado, and San Francisco, eventually settling in Newport Beach.
In 1999, Krissy became an aunt for the first time. Though she never had children of her own she treated her niece, Kylie and later, her nephews, Cameron, Clayton, and Colton as if they were her own. Always spoiling them to no end. They knew if mom and dad said, "no" they could just ask Aunt Krissy, and she would make it happen. She loved them all so much and was so proud of each of them.
In 2009, Krissy set out on a new adventure when she purchased Rosie Toes Lounge, the cutest little mani/pedi salon on Balboa Island. It was there that everyone could truly see Krissy's amazing talent for making others feel special blossom. She loved creating an atmosphere where people could visit to relax and feel pampered.
In 2010, Krissy's world changed for the better when she met a little boy, Nicolai at the local coffee shop, who would later introduce her to his father, Anthony Waner. Soon after, she knew Anthony was her soulmate, and would be her life partner. Together they worked to create their dream life in Newport Beach, California. Krissy thought the world of Anthony, and he of her, always calling her "his queen." They loved their Sunday Funday's going to their favorite coffee spots to grab a coffee before heading to the beach to sit or walk and chat.
Krissy was the best sister to Kelly (Cliff Reich) of Hudson, Ohio, and daughter to Mary (John Welsh) of Alliance, Ohio, always taking care of them whether it be just calling to say hello, making them laugh, spending time with them, or pampering them on their birthdays.
Krissy was known as Krissy Kringle to many. She loved Christmas, and the spirit of giving. She knew how to make everyone around her feel like the most special person in the world. She would spend hours searching for the perfect gift for someone. Then, she would wrap the gift so beautifully that you wouldn't want to open it.
Krissy was a friend to hundreds, admired, and respected by everyone she met. She would bring the "Funshine" as she called it, to every situation, dancing, joking, or just smiling at you, and your day would brighten. She is now bringing the "Funshine" to Heaven.
There will be a celebration of life for Krissy at a later date.
