Kristopher Mitchell Petro

1975 - 2025

Kristopher Mitchell Petro, born on September 27, 1975 in Las Vegas, NV moved to Salt Lake City, UT where he grew up and lived most of his life. Kris passed away on November 28, 2025 at the age of 50.

Kris was an exceptional man with a great sense of humor. Some called him a "dreamer" but Kris had a personality that refused to be silenced by the rules of this world. Kris loved many things: good music, loud motorcycles, and most importantly, his family. Where most people saw imperfection, he saw perfection. He did not have a lot, but when he was with his kids, he had everything. Kris prided himself on being an honest man.

Kris was a passionate man, who taught his children to have passionate dreams. Kris spear headed the love for motorcycles that now flows through his son's veins. They both say the same quote, "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul." He taught his daughters to follow their dreams and persevere even when life feels hard.

For those that spent enough time with him, you would know he always gave funny nicknames. His kids nicknames were Bugzy which is Wendy, Studz is his son Tyler, and Roo is his daughter Safiah. For himself, there was only one name he could think of. Taking pride in his three children, like each of us were a branch of himself, he came up with his own nickname—KP+3.

If you went over to Kris's house on a weeknight, you would most likely find a fire pit going in the front yard and him in the kitchen blasting Steppenwolf—making his famous "biker stew". Sometimes he would be singing the lyrics of "Born to Be Wild" not realizing the irony—that the song was written about him.

Kris loved to be happy and make those around him happy, but if you got close enough to see past the surface, you would know that Kris had a troubled soul. He was blessed and cursed with the gift of empathy. His empathy made him susceptible to feeling the darkness of the world. He tried so hard to protect those around him, even when this left his own heart unprotected. Although he struggled with his demons, he was trying to overcome the turmoil in his mind. Luckily, in his final days, he was actively in treatment to get help. Fighting his addiction and his mind for so long took a toll on his body, and although his body might've given out, his spirit never did. He had hope again. The demons did not take him, the angels did.

He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Wendy & Austin Romo, Kristopher "Tyler" & Raquel Petro, and Safiah Petro; his mother, Lorrie Hadley; and his siblings, Kyle Petro, Kent Hartman, and Kasey Heimlich. Kris was preceded in death by his father, Gary "Umpa" Hadley; his uncle, Steve Hadley; and his grandmother, Thelma Patterson.
